Are you a visionary clinician or researcher passionate about advancing Parkinson’s research? The Canadian Open Parkinson Network (C-OPN) is looking for a dedicated and inspiring leader to take on the role of Co-Director and help shape the future of Parkinson’s research in Canada.

About C-OPN

C-OPN is a unique research platform that bridges the gap between individuals affected by Parkinson’s Disease and researchers and clinicians across Canada. By facilitating participation and access to extensive research resources, C-OPN is at the forefront of advancing knowledge and improving outcomes for those living with Parkinson’s.

As we continue to grow and expand our impact, we’re seeking a talented and passionate leader to join our team and help us achieve long-term sustainability and excellence in research.

The Role: Co-Director

This volunteer position is ideal for an MD and/or PhD affiliated with a Canadian university who wants to make a significant contribution to Parkinson’s research. As Co-Director, you’ll work closely with the current leadership team to guide C-OPN’s strategic direction, build meaningful partnerships, and ensure the network’s sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sustainability Strategy:
    • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability plan alongside the C-OPN leadership team, National Manager, and Funding Relations Working Group.
    • Foster strong relationships with donors and funders to secure financial stability and alignment with C-OPN’s goals.
  • Leadership and Governance:
    • Collaborate with the Executive Committee to align sustainability efforts with C-OPN’s mission.
    • Supervise governance processes and provide effective leadership for the Network.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • In-depth knowledge of Canada’s academic, healthcare, and research sectors.
    • A track record in scientific project management
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Passion for advancing Parkinson’s research and improving outcomes for patients
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research, particularly in patient engagement
